Mong-Tsen 孟村 Mèng cūn
The French post office in Mong-Tsen (also spelled Mengtsz or Mengzi) was established around 1903 near the border with French Indochina. Located at the terminus of the Yunnan–Haiphong railway, it played a key role in mail and trade between southern China and colonial Indochina. French stamps overprinted "CHINE" were used, and cancellations reading "MONGTSEN" are found on mail until about 1906, when the office was closed or absorbed into other networks.
