This official set of service stamps issued by Nepal in 1959 represents the nation’s heraldic arms within a finely engraved frame, a symbol of administrative authority and state representation during the post-UPU integration period. The series comprises values from 2 Paisa to 12 Paisa (2p, 4p, 6p, 8p, 12p), printed by typography in single colors: grey brown, green, red, violet, and red-orange. Measuring 29 × 17 mm, the stamps are perforated 14 and issued without watermark, featuring the national emblem flanked by soldiers and the Latin motto “Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori.” As official stamps (service issues), these were used exclusively for governmental correspondence, underscoring their scarcity in genuinely mint condition. Catalogued as Michel NP D1–D5, Scott NP O1–O5, Yvert et Tellier NP S1–S5, and Stanley Gibbons NP O135–O139, this complete MNH set is highly sought after by collectors of South Asian philately. Comparisons with similar South Asian service issues of the late 1950s highlight the distinctive political and cultural identity of Nepal during this transitional period. Estimate "$120 – 180". Condition: Mint Never Hinged (MNH), fresh colors, intact perforations, very fine preservation.
