China 1917, full mint never hinged set from the Russian Post Office in China featuring the imperial Russian double-headed eagle overprint on denominations ranging from 3 cents to 1 Chinese dollar. Printed via typography in medium sienna and light brown tones with comb perforation 14 x 14½, these stamps were part of the final issues from the Russian postal system in China prior to the collapse of the Tsarist regime. The overprint signified use in treaty ports under Russian postal control and carried the imperial arms as a symbol of state authority. Catalogued as Scott Ts.3 46–52, Michel RU-CH 48, Yvert et Tellier RU-CH 49, Stanley Gibbons RU-CH 55, and Unificato RU-CH 49.
