This mint never hinged complete set of five stamps was issued on May 5, 1947 by the postal authority of the Northeastern Provinces of China to commemorate the first anniversary of the return of the Nationalist Government to Nanking. Each stamp in the series, gravure printed with line perforation 14, features iconic imagery tied to the Republican government and national pride, including views of the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, governmental buildings, and symbolic structures. The color scheme includes rich tones such as dark green, and the stamps measure 37 x 26 mm. These were produced during a transitional period when the central government was reasserting control over regions formerly under Japanese occupation or warlord rule, and the set marks a patriotic moment of unity and restoration. Printed without watermark and in top condition, the set is catalogued as Michel CN-IM-NE 48–52, Scott CN-IM-NE 36–40, Yvert CN-IM-NE 42–46, Stanley Gibbons CN-IM-NE 64–68, and China Stamp Society CN-IM NE46–50.
