Issued on 1 October 1946, this mint never hinged block of four features a 2 cent dark blue stamp honoring Sung Chiao-jen, an influential revolutionary and co-founder of the Kuomintang. Originally printed by Commercial Press Ltd. in Hong Kong using gravure and typography, the stamp was overprinted with the text "Restricted for Use in Taiwan" and revalued from 2 cents to 2 old Taiwanese cents. It belongs to the Martyrs Issue and reflects Taiwan's transition under Republic of China administration following Japanese occupation. Listed as Scott TW14, Michel TW14, Yvert 30, Stanley Gibbons TW10, and China Stamp Society TW10, the stamp was issued without watermark and shows variable perforation. Thematically it honors political sacrifice and national rebuilding. This well-centered block is in excellent condition with strong impressions, fresh gum, and intact margins. Estimate "$80 – 100"
