Issued on September 18, 1945, this mint never hinged block of four features the triple denomination surcharge $5 on $1000 on 1 cent orange from the Wang Ching-wei regime, overprinted in green and printed by the American Bank Note Company. Measuring 26 x 22 mm, gravure printed with perforation 12½, the stamp originally belonged to the CNC definitive series and was later surcharged during the late stages of wartime inflation. The issue commemorates prominent figures and revolutionary ideals, reflecting the complex political symbolism of the collapsing Reorganized National Government. Catalogued as Scott CN-IM 621, Michel CN-IM 649, Yvert et Tellier CN-IM 528, Stanley Gibbons CN-IM 780, and China Stamp Society CN-IM 987, this scarce transitional item is preserved in excellent mint never hinged condition with vibrant color and full gum.
