Issued on December 5, 1940, during the German occupation of Luxembourg in World War II, this set of four used stamps features overprinted denominations in Reichspfennig on existing Luxembourg definitive issues depicting Grand Duchess Charlotte. The stamps included are the 3 Rpf (Michel DE-LU 17), 6 Rpf (Michel DE-LU 20II), 8 Rpf (Michel DE-LU 21), and 10 Rpf (Michel DE-LU 22), printed in black, blackish olive, dark brown, and blackish olive respectively. Each stamp measures 23 x 26 mm and is produced using intaglio printing with line perforation 12. These stamps were part of a short-lived issue, valid until March 31, 1941, reflecting the political changes during the occupation. They are cataloged as Michel DE-LU 17, 20II, 21, 22; Scott LU N17, N20, N21, N22; Yvert et Tellier LU-OA 17, 20, 21, 22; and Stanley Gibbons LU 413, 416, 417, 418. The set is in fine used condition, with clear cancellations and good centering. Estimate "$45 – 60".
