This mint never hinged stamp from Grand Liban (Greater Lebanon), issued in 1924 under French Mandate administration, features the green typographed profile of Louis Pasteur, designed by Georges Henri Prudhomme. Originally a 10 centimes French issue, it was overprinted in bold black capital letters with “GRAND LIBAN / 50 / CENTIEMES”, revaluing it for local use in the newly created political entity of Greater Lebanon. The overprint reflects both the assertion of local identity and continued reliance on French philatelic stock. With its clean perforation (14 x 13½), fresh gum, and untouched surface, this postcolonial transitional issue stands as a desirable piece for collectors of Levant postal history and scientific commemoratives alike. Estimate "$40 – 60".
