Germany 1923, Inflation Series, 5,000,000,000-mark stamp in sienna and yellow orange, typographically printed by the Reichsdruckerei in Berlin and issued on November 12, 1923, during the final and most extreme phase of the Weimar Republic’s hyperinflation. Measuring 22 x 26 mm, the stamp features an upright 'waffle' watermark and roulette perforation 13. Released as a definitive issue, it was printed in full sheets of 100 stamps, with this example preserved in mint never hinged (MNH) condition. Catalogued as Michel DR 327BP, Scott DE 307, Yvert et Tellier DR 328, Stanley Gibbons DR 339, and Unificato DR 328, the issue includes three recognized minor varieties. Among the highest face-value stamps of the period, it exemplifies the urgent postal adaptations to a rapidly collapsing currency. This intact MNH sheet provides exceptional historical significance and visual impact. Estimate "$90 – 110"
