Germany 1923, Inflation Series, 10,000,000-mark stamp in orange red, typographically printed by the Reichsdruckerei in Berlin and issued on October 16, 1923, during the most turbulent phase of the Weimar Republic’s hyperinflation. The stamp measures 22 x 26 mm, features an upright 'waffle' watermark, and is perforated comb 14 x 14¼. Released as a regular definitive issue in full sheets of 100, this example is in mint never hinged (MNH) condition. Catalogued as Michel DR 318AP, Scott DE 286, Yvert et Tellier DR 299, Stanley Gibbons DR 320, AFA DR 318, and Unificato DR 299, the issue is known to have eight minor variants. The sharp increase in face value reflects the urgency of adapting postage rates to rapidly declining currency. As a complete MNH sheet, it is both a powerful symbol of economic history and a valuable addition to any philatelic collection. Estimate "$65 – 80"
