Germany 1923, Inflation Series, 20,000,000-mark stamp in dark violet ultramarine, typographically printed by the Reichsdruckerei in Berlin and issued on November 1, 1923, during the intense final phase of the Weimar Republic’s hyperinflation crisis. Measuring 22 x 26 mm, the stamp features an upright 'waffle' watermark and roulette perforation 13. Issued as a definitive daily-use postage stamp, it was distributed in full sheets of 100, and this example remains in mint never hinged (MNH) condition. Catalogued as Michel DR 319BP, Scott DE 302, Yvert et Tellier DR 307, Stanley Gibbons DR 334, and Unificato DR 307, the issue is known to have one recognized minor variety. As postal rates soared to match plummeting currency values, such stamps with enormous face values became commonplace. The intact sheet offers strong visual impact and serves as a compelling historical artifact of Germany’s fiscal collapse. Estimate "$65 – 80"
