Germany 1923, Inflation Series, 1,000,000-mark stamp in dark green blue, typographically printed by the Reichsdruckerei in Berlin. Issued on October 8, 1923, at the height of the hyperinflation crisis, the stamp measures 22 x 26 mm and features upright 'waffle' watermark with comb perforation 14 x 14¼. It was released as a definitive daily issue in full sheets of 100 stamps. This example is in mint never hinged (MNH) condition and catalogued as Michel DR 314AP, Scott DE 281, Yvert et Tellier DR 295, Stanley Gibbons DR 316, and Unificato DR 295. With five recognized minor variants, it is a prime representation of Germany’s desperate postal adaptations to runaway inflation. The intact sheet adds historical depth and collector appeal.
