Issued in October 1923 during the peak of the Weimar hyperinflation, this 5,000,000 Mark stamp from the “Inflation Series” is printed in light carmine and features a plain numeral design to emphasize monetary urgency. Produced in typography at the Reichsdruckerei in Berlin on paper with an upright waffle watermark, it measures 22 by 26 mm and is perforated comb 14 x 14¼. This stamp, catalogued as Michel DR 317APPEI (a minor variety of DR 317 / #127577), was used for high-value postal rates during the final stages of Germany’s monetary collapse. Offered here in a full mint never hinged sheet of 100 stamps, all with undisturbed gum, no folds, and intact perforations. A dramatic and historically significant artifact from Germany’s inflationary crisis. Estimate "$220 – 260"
