This full mint never hinged sheet of 100 stamps from the April 1923 “Workers” definitive issue of the German Reich displays the 20 Mark denomination in a striking bright reddish purple shade. Designed by Paul Neu, the stamp depicts two coal miners using pickaxes and drills in a stylized yet expressive portrayal of industrial labor, part of the broader visual narrative of the Weimar Republic’s commitment to rebuilding Germany through the valorization of manual work. Issued during a peak of hyperinflation, the 20 Mark stamp was a practical necessity, representing a rapid escalation in postal tariffs within a few months. Produced by the Reichsdruckerei in Berlin using typographic printing, the sheet is printed on paper with an upright waffle watermark and exhibits clean comb perforation 14 x 14¼. The selvage contains full positional markings, color bars, and the printer’s imprint “Paul & Schwenke, Berlin W.30,” as well as plate number “H 3595 23” indicating its late-series origin. The reverse is clean, with strong watermark visibility and original gum intact. This issue is listed as Michel DR 241, Scott DE 224, Yvert et Tellier DR 240, Stanley Gibbons DR 252, and Unificato DR 240. Condition Exceptionally fresh MNH full sheet with vivid color, deep impression and intact perforations; minor margin ink offset and one small selvage spot at right noted. Estimate "$180 – 220".
