Issued in early 1922, this 4 Mark stamp from the German Empire’s “Posthorn” definitive series features a prominent posthorn motif, symbolizing communication and the postal service. Designed by Wilhelm Szesztokat and printed typographically at the Reichsdruckerei in Berlin, the stamp is rendered in light yellow-green and black green, perforated comb 14 x 14¼, and printed on paper with upright waffle watermark. Measuring 22 by 26 mm, it was used during the economically volatile period of the Weimar Republic. Catalogued as Michel DR 193 (Scott DE 179, Yvert DR 198, Gibbons DR 192, Unificato DR 198), this item is a full mint never hinged sheet of 100 stamps with pristine original gum, intact perforations, and no folds or separations. A rare and visually striking survivor in complete sheet format from Germany’s inflation-era postal history. Estimate "$220 – 260"
