Issued in January 1922, this 50 Pfennig definitive stamp from the German Empire’s “Numerals” series is printed in blackish red violet and features a large value numeral design. Created by Willi Geiger and printed in typography by the Reichsdruckerei, Berlin, the stamp has comb perforation 14 x 14¼ and is printed on paper with waffle watermark (upright). It reflects Germany’s postal and monetary reforms during the early Weimar inflation period. Catalogued as Michel DR 183a (Scott DE 167, Yvert DR 166, Gibbons DR 182, Unificato DR 166), this offering consists of a complete sheet of 100 mint never hinged stamps, all with full original gum and no separation or folds. A rare and desirable survivor in full sheet format from the early 1920s. Estimate "$180 – 220"
