This is a full unmounted mint sheet of the 100 Pfennig "Miner" definitive stamp issued by the Weimar Republic in 1922. The design, attributed to Paul Neu, features a muscular miner at work, symbolic of German industry and labor. Printed using typography at the Reichsdruckerei in Berlin, the stamps are in a dark greenish olive shade with waffle-pattern watermark (upright), and perforated comb 14 x 14¼. The sheet shows corner inscriptions, marginal control numbers, and standard vertical-horizontal format, 10x10 stamps. The paper is gummed and free of hinges or folds, showing excellent centering and sharp impressions.
This issue, part of the broader "Numerals, Workers, Posthorn" series, reflects the economic challenges and worker valorization of post-WWI Germany. Its utilitarian role as a high-denomination definitive during the hyperinflation period adds historical depth, as well as its bold, expressive design that blends function and ideology.
Condition is excellent MNH with fresh gum and intact perforations; minor handling traces in margin only.
