This full mint never hinged sheet from the 1922 definitive “Posthorn” issue of the German Reich features 100 unseparated 4 Mark stamps printed in light yellow-green and dark green. The design, created by Wilhelm Szesztokat, prominently displays a stylized posthorn, a classical symbol of postal service and communication, which reflects the importance of state-controlled mail systems during the interwar period. Issued on January 1, 1922, during the early years of the Weimar Republic and a time of economic turbulence and inflation, the stamp illustrates both the aesthetic sensibilities and utilitarian demands of the time. Printed using typographic methods by the Reichsdruckerei in Berlin, the sheet has waffle-pattern watermark (upright) and features comb perforation 14 x 14¼. The margins are fully intact and show the plate numbers, guide lines, and values along the borders, with imprint “Paul & Schwenke, Berlin W. 30” along the right edge. The stamps are gummed and in pristine condition with no signs of handling or hinging. This stamp is listed in major catalogs as Michel DR 193, Scott DE 179, Yvert et Tellier DR 198, Stanley Gibbons DR 192, and Unificato DR 198. Condition Superb mint never hinged full sheet with sharp perforations, excellent centering, and no defects. Estimate "$250 – 300".
