Issued in May 1921, this 2 Mark stamp from the German Empire’s “Posthorn” definitive series features a stylized posthorn, emblematic of postal tradition and communication. Designed by Wilhelm Szesztokat and printed typographically by the Reichsdruckerei in Berlin, it is printed in purple-violet and rose on paper with an upright lozenge (diamond) watermark. Measuring 22 by 26 mm with comb perforation 14 x 14¼, the stamp reflects Germany’s evolving postal aesthetics during the early Weimar Republic. Catalogued as Michel DR 171 (Scott DE 150, Yvert DR 193, Gibbons DR 166, Unificato DR 193), this is a full mint never hinged sheet of 100 stamps, all with intact gum, excellent centering, and no folds or separations. A fine and scarce complete sheet from Germany’s hyperinflation period. Estimate "$200 – 240"
