Issued in May 1921, this 30 Pfennig stamp from the German Empire’s “Numerals” definitive series is printed in opal green to blackish opal green and features a notable constant plate flaw: a wedge-shaped mark inside the “0” of the value “30,” found in positions 9, 10, 15, 60, and 65. Designed by Willi Geiger and printed in typography at the Reichsdruckerei in Berlin, the stamp is on paper with an upright diamond-shaped watermark, measures 22 by 26 mm, and is perforated comb 14 x 14¼. Catalogued as Michel DR 162PFI, a minor variety of DR 162, this is a full mint never hinged sheet of 100 stamps with full original gum, sharp perforations, and no separation or folding.
