Germany 1921, Definitives: Numerals, Workers, Posthorn series, 40-pfennig stamp in yellow red to red orange, designed by Willi Geiger and typographically printed by the Reichsdruckerei in Berlin. Issued in August 1921 and valid until September 30, 1923, the stamp measures 22 x 26 mm and features upright lozenge-shaped 'pastille' watermark with comb perforation 14 x 14¼. It was produced as a regular definitive issue and distributed in full sheets of 100. This example is presented as an intact sheet in mint never hinged (MNH) condition and catalogued as Michel DR 163, Scott DE 142, Yvert et Tellier DR 143, Stanley Gibbons DR 158, AFA DR 163, and Unificato DR 143. With one recognized minor variant, the stamp illustrates the transitional phase of German postage between imperial and inflationary eras, marked by conservative design yet increasingly complex economic context.
