This stamp from the French post offices in Morocco, issued in 1911, is a typographed revaluation of the definitive “Type Mouchon” issue. Originally a 35c pale violet French stamp, it has been overprinted with a red Arabic numeral and inscription denoting a local currency adjustment to 35 céntimos. The design, created by Louis-Eugène Mouchon, depicts the allegorical seated figure of Liberty holding the "Droits de l'Homme" (Rights of Man), embodying republican ideals. Below the central vignette is the word “MAROC”, identifying the issue as part of the French colonial administration in Morocco. The stamp features perforation 14 x 13½ and was printed without watermark. This particular example is postmarked and shows some overprint offset visible on the back, yet remains structurally intact. It is a compelling artifact from a period of political and postal transition, offering insight into French influence in North Africa through both iconography and overprint linguistics. Estimate "$30 – 45".
