Issued in 1906 as part of the final London Print series under the Qing Dynasty, this $1 Chinese Imperial Post stamp was produced by Waterlow & Sons Ltd in salmon and deep red using gravure printing. The design prominently features a flock of geese in flight against swirling cloud patterns, symbolizing harmony and seasonal migration, making it one of the most artistically admired imperial Chinese stamps. Printed on unwatermarked paper with variable perforations, typically line perf 14, the issue was valid until the imperial system ended in 1914. Catalogued as Scott IM 120, Michel CN-IM 69, Yvert CN-IM 70, Stanley Gibbons CN-IM 131, and CSS CN-IM 142. This postally used example bears a near-complete Shanghai circular date stamp with strong ink and excellent centering, presenting in very fine condition with full design visibility and crisp edges.
