French Indochina 1903, block of four mint never hinged stamps from the Sino-French post office in Canton, featuring the 5 centimes denomination from the Navigation and Commerce series with bold black “CANTON” overprint. Printed by the Imprimerie Nationale, Paris, using typography on unwatermarked paper, this issue was designed by Louis-Eugène Mouchon and printed in light green and yellow. Measuring 20 x 24 mm with perforation 14 x 13½, the allegorical depiction of Commerce reflects colonial influence and trade-based themes. Catalogued as Scott CAN 18 (Chan Chin20), Michel FR-IC B20I, Yvert et Tellier FR-CAN 20, and Stanley Gibbons FR-CAN 20.
