Engraved in a deep red-violet hue, this 5 cent stamp from the 1913 “Junk Issue” series displays the prominent Chinese junk sailing leftward. Designed and printed by Waterlow & Sons Ltd., the stamp is perforated 14 and issued on unwatermarked paper. This denomination was widely used for inland letters and postcards. The cancel is bold and dark, partly obscuring the central vignette. A faint hinge trace and slight paper wear is visible on the reverse. The issue is catalogued under Michel CN-IM 153 I, Scott CN-IM 207, Yvert et Tellier CN-IM 150, Stanley Gibbons CN-IM 273, and China Stamp Society CN-IM 245. Estimate "$8 – 15"
