Tchongking 重慶 Chóngqìng
The French post office in Tchongking operated from 1896 to 1904, following the city's opening as a treaty port. While not under colonial rule, the city hosted several foreign concessions, including a French presence. French stamps overprinted "CHINE" were used, and postmarks appear with spellings like Tchongking, Chungking, or Chongqing. The office supported trade and diplomatic interests along the upper Yangtze River.
