Issued in May 1949 by the Eastern Liberated Areas under Communist control, this mint never hinged full sheet commemorates the 7th anniversary of the Shantung Post Office. The 5 Chinese dollars denomination, printed in brown by offset on ungummed paper, measures 26 x 23 mm and features an industrial design including a railway locomotive, five-pointed star, and symbolic transport imagery. Valid until August 31, 1950, it reflects the revolutionary era's focus on infrastructure and proletarian unity. Perforations are variable, and some edge examples may show imperforate sides from pane margins, though these are not classified as separate types. Catalogued as Scott CN 5L24, Michel CN-E 20, Yvert CN-OR 15(A), and Stanley Gibbons CN EC336. This sheet is exceptionally well preserved with crisp print, full selvage, and no visible flaws, representative of the emerging postal system during the late civil war period. Estimate "$220 – 280"
