This full sheet of 80 mint stamps was issued by China on October 12, 1948, during the Gold Yuan currency reform period. The stamp features a portrait of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, founding father of the Republic of China, and belongs to the Gold Yuan Surcharged Martyrs Issue. It is printed in light green without gum by Dah Tung Book Co. and Dah Yeh Printing Co. in Shanghai. The surcharges were applied as part of emergency monetary adjustments amid hyperinflation. The stamp measures 22 x 26 mm and is perforated 14. As a symbol of China's revolutionary heritage, the design honors Sun Yat-sen’s legacy alongside other national martyrs, resonating with themes of patriotism, reform, and leadership during a period of upheaval. The stamps are in mint never hinged (MNH) condition with sharp corners and good centering across the sheet. Scott 822. Estimate "$160 – 190"
