This 1946 issue from the Martyrs of the Revolution series features a red-orange 5 fen stamp surcharged with "50.00" dollars in a rectangular black tablet, part of an inflationary revaluation. The stamp depicts a portrait of a revolutionary martyr framed by the Nationalist emblem and laurel wreath. Printed by Commercial Press Ltd., Hong Kong, using gravure printing, the stamp has no watermark and displays variable perforation typical for the series. Issued during the late Republic of China period, the overprint reflects emergency postal adaptations to the devalued currency following the war against Japan. The presented item is a mint never hinged block of four, well-centered with pristine gum and no defects visible on front or reverse. Cataloged as Scott IM667, Michel CN-IM 719, Stanley Gibbons CN-IM 847, Yvert CN-IM 492, and China Stamp Society CN-IM 1042. This postwar overprint issue is both historically and aesthetically significant, particularly in multiples. Estimate "$85 – 100"
