China 1945, complete mint never hinged set of five stamps featuring the “Hwa Pei” (華北) overprint, issued under Japanese occupation in northern China. Printed by the Hsin Min Press in Beijing using lithography, this brown-toned set displays denominations ranging from 2 to 50 Chinese dollars and features the portrait of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, symbolizing nationalist ideals amid occupation control. These stamps were released in May 1945 without watermark and printed on varied paper types, with line perforation 14 and issued ungummed as standard. The “Hwa Pei” overprint marked restricted postal use within the North China regime as part of the Japanese puppet government's regional strategy. Cataloged as Scott 8N114–8N118, Michel JP-NC 378–382, and Chan92: JN573–JN576. This set is in very fine condition with fresh color, sharp impressions, and full margins throughout.
