China 1945, mint never hinged block of four featuring the Martyr of the Revolution issue with a black overprint for the Japanese-occupied Mengkiang region. Printed in dark brown with the small multiple "YU" watermark (up), this issue was released in July 1945 during the final months of Japanese control. The stamp honors revolutionary martyrs and was adapted for regional use with the Meng Chiang overprint, part of the occupation regime’s localized postal system. Cataloged as Scott 2N121, Michel JP-MG 106, Stanley Gibbons JP-MG 125B, and China Stamp Society CN-IM MK229. This MNH block is well-centered, clean, with strong overprints and full original gum.
