Issued in 1943 during Japanese occupation of Northeastern China, this mint never hinged block of four features a black boxed overprint reading “200.00” on the original 1 cent orange Central China issue, designed by Bohumil Heinz and printed by Commercial Press Ltd., Hong Kong. Originally depicting a military portrait symbolizing revolutionary leadership, the stamp was gravure printed on unwatermarked paper with variable perforation and revalued for hyperinflationary postal rates. The overprint was applied for exclusive use in the Northeastern Provinces, then under puppet regime control, marking it as part of a broader effort to regionalize currency and mail administration. Catalogued as Scott IM 9N76, Michel JP-CC 72, Yvert CN-OJ 67, Stanley Gibbons JP-CC 93, and CSS CN-IM SN107. This multiple is fresh and well-centered, with bold overprints and strong original gum, presenting in immaculate condition. Estimate "$150 – 190"
