Issued on July 1, 1941, under Japanese occupation in Mengkiang, this full sheet of twenty 1 cent orange stamps features a bold black overprint in large characters denoting use in the Mengkiang postal zone. The design honors a revolutionary martyr and was printed by Commercial Press Ltd. in Hong Kong using gravure on paper watermarked with the small multiple "YU" character (upright). Perforation varies slightly, consistent with wartime production. Catalogued as Scott 2N33, Michel JP-MG 42II, Stanley Gibbons JP-MG 53B, and China Stamp Society MK109, this sheet is mint never hinged with full original gum, sharp overprints, and excellent color preservation. It is a striking multiple from a short-lived occupation regime and a desirable item for collectors of World War II-era Chinese postal history. Estimate "$240 – 270"
