This block of four judicial revenue stamps from 1936 was issued for court tax purposes in Taiwan under Republican Chinese administration. Each stamp, printed in a vivid orange-red shade, features a detailed image of the Taiwan Judicial Building, complete with flanking Kuomintang sun emblems and official scrollwork. The inscription at the top reads "司法印紙" (Judicial Stamp), indicating its designated legal use. The denomination "伍佰圓" (5 yuan) is positioned prominently in the lower margin. The stamps were printed without gum on thin paper and lack formal perforation, being imperforate as issued. The large, round black handstamp cancellation shows clear legible characters, denoting official usage in a Taiwanese court. Though uncatalogued in standard philatelic references such as Scott or Michel, judicial revenue issues like this one are highly sought after for their historical and documentary value, providing tangible links to Taiwan’s legal administration during the Nanjing government era. The block is preserved in very fine used condition with full margins and no faults. Estimate "$100 – 160"
