This rare 1927 regional issue from Chekiang (Zhejiang) Province features a 1 cent stamp depicting the iconic Shaoxing City Gate, a historic symbol of traditional Chinese architecture and cultural heritage. Although unlisted in major philatelic catalogs, this stamp is believed to have been locally produced during a period of decentralized postal control and shifting political dynamics in Republican-era China. The intricate linework and detailed rendering of the gate reflect regional pride and architectural significance. Issued without watermark and printed via lithography, the stamp exhibits no denomination change or overprint, affirming its local origin. The presented block is in mint never hinged (MNH) condition with full original gum, sharp perforations, and rich coloration. Its survival in this state is exceptionally scarce, especially as most such regional issues were used up or destroyed. Estimate "$300 – 380"
