Issued on 1 December 1920, this semi-postal set comprises three sailing ship stamps (2c green, 4c red, and 6c blue) from the Beijing First Edition Junk series, each overprinted with "附收賑捐" (attached relief donation) and surcharged respectively to 1c, 3c, and 5c. Printed by the Ministry of Finance Printing Office in Beijing, these stamps were repurposed to raise funds for flood victims following the catastrophic Yellow River levee breach in the eighth year of the Republic. Proceeds were directed exclusively to disaster relief efforts. The overprints are rendered in red for the 1c and 5c, and blue for the 3c. Featuring traditional gravure-printed Junk imagery, these stamps are culturally significant both for their humanitarian role and as the first semi-postal issue of the Republic. Each stamp is mint hinged with bright color and well-centered print from the original Beijing matrix. Estimate "$150 – 180"
