This complete sheet of 100 stamps was issued by the Russian Post Offices in China in 1917, featuring a black diagonal surcharge of “15 Cents” applied to the 15 kopek imperial issue originally printed in blue and carmine. The design includes the imperial Russian double-headed eagle within an ornate oval shield, surrounded by intricate filigree. This overprint was part of a currency revaluation aligning with Chinese local currency denominations used in the treaty ports. The stamps were printed by typography with comb perforation 14 x 14½ on ungummed paper.
Listed as Scott RU-CH 57, Michel RU-CH 42, Yvert 43, Stanley Gibbons 49, and Unificato 43, the full sheet is arranged in four quadrants separated by central gutters, preserving full printer’s layout. The condition is mint never hinged (MNH) with full original gum, exhibiting uniformly fresh color and clean margins. Minor gum toning and typical fold lines along the gutters are present but do not affect individual stamp quality. A highly collectible and rarely preserved intact multiple, ideal for specialists of foreign post offices in China. Estimate "$400 – 480"
