Korea 1913, early cover featuring a Japan Tazawa series definitive stamp used under Japanese administration, tied by legible datestamp. The stamp, a 5 Japanese sen violet issue from the Tazawa (New Die, Flat Plate Print) series, was printed by typography on granite paper and bears the characteristic upward Type 4 wavy-line watermark. Designed with a floral motif and imperial chrysanthemum crest, the issue symbolizes state authority during Japanese governance of Korea. The stamp features variable perforation (commonly 13×13½) and was cataloged as Michel JP 116III, Scott JP 133a, Stanley Gibbons JP 234, and Sakura JP 170, with Yvert et Tellier not listing this variant. Cover bears full vertical Korean script in brush calligraphy and shows minor wear at top, consistent with early 20th-century mail. A fine example of Korean postal history under Japanese rule.
