Issued in 1906 as part of the London Print Coiling Dragon series by Waterlow & Sons Ltd, this high-denomination $2 Chinese Imperial Post stamp features a detailed image of wild geese in flight amid stylized clouds, symbolizing movement, continuity, and natural order within the Qing imperial aesthetic. Printed using gravure in vivid carmine and yellow tones on unwatermarked paper with variable line perforations, the stamp served in postal use until the end of the imperial era on April 1, 1914. Catalogued as Scott IM 121, Michel CN-IM 70, Yvert CN-IM 71, Stanley Gibbons CN-IM 132, and CSS CN-IM 143. This postally used example exhibits a strong central circular cancellation, slightly toned paper, and a vertical crease with signs of handling along the left margin, but retains clear detail and rich coloration.
