This 1906 postcard from French Indochina features a vivid wartime naval illustration captioned “The Destruction of Russian Fleet,” commemorating the Russo-Japanese War of 1904–1905. The reverse bears an elegant address to Dijon, France, written in ink and accompanied by a bold, circular cancellation dated “SAIGON CENTRAL COCHINCHINE.” Affixed is a 5 centimes green stamp from the definitive “Type Grasset” series, designed by Eugène Grasset and printed by Imprimerie Nationale, Paris. This typographed issue, printed on green paper without watermark, measures 20 x 24 mm and is perforated 14 x 13½. The stamp is cataloged as Yvert et Tellier FR-IC 27, Michel FR-IC 27, Scott FR-IC 27, and Stanley Gibbons FR-IC 33. As a philatelic and historical artifact, the postcard connects colonial French administration, Russo-Japanese naval warfare, and early 20th-century propaganda. Condition: well-preserved with strong postmark and clean surfaces. Estimate "$40 – 55".
