This is a matched set of mint never hinged blocks of four from the German Imperial Post Offices in China, featuring overprinted Germania issues denominated in Chinese cents. Issued in 1905, these stamps were printed in typographic process without watermark and show a crowned bust of Germania facing left, designed by Paul Eduard Waldraff. The denominations are 1 cent (ochre brown), 2 cents (green), and 4 cents (carmine red), all originally based on German domestic issues revalued for use in China. The stamps are comb perforated 14 x 14½ and measure 22 x 26 mm. These overprinted issues were used extensively in treaty ports including Tientsin and Shanghai, reflecting Germany’s presence in China during the late Qing dynasty and the expansion of colonial postal networks. The blocks show uniform margins and fresh color, with light hinge marks visible on some gum sides. The historical and philatelic value of these early 20th-century colonial issues is elevated when found in multiples, especially in pristine condition. Estimate "$200 – 250"
