China 1905–1906, complete used set of seven stamps issued by the German Post Office in China, featuring overprints in black on the German Empire’s definitive “Germania” series. Designed by Paul Eduard Waldraff and printed by typography at the Reichsdruckerei in Berlin, the stamps are perforated comb 14 x 14½, printed on paper with lozenge (diamond-shaped) watermark, and measure 22 x 26 mm. The allegorical figure of Germania wearing a crown and diadem symbolizes imperial strength and cultural unity.
The stamps were issued with denominations from 1 to 50 Chinese cents, overprinted in local currency and used in German treaty ports such as Tientsin and Shanghai, valid until March 16, 1917. Postmarked examples like these offer strong postal history value and reflect colonial administration during the final years of imperial Germany's overseas presence.
