Issued in 1902 during the late Qing Dynasty, this mint never hinged block of four features the ½ cent chocolate-colored "Coiling Dragon" design from the London Print series. Printed by Waterlow & Sons Ltd using gravure printing and without watermark, the stamp measures 22 x 26 mm and shows variable perforation. Listed as Scott 98, Chan 116, Stanley Gibbons 121a, and China Stamp Society 125a, this variant is a slightly smaller format version of earlier dragon definitives. The design, centered on the imperial dragon motif, reflects traditional Chinese symbolism of strength and protection, and was part of the standardized imperial postal reform period. The stamps are in pristine condition, with fresh gum and sharp impression, making this block a high-quality example of Qing philately. Estimate "$180 – 220"
