Local issue from the Chinese Treaty Port of Kewkiang (Kiukiang), this 1895 block of six two-cent stamps was printed by the Central China Press using lithography. The pink red stamps bear the inscription "KEWKIANG LOCAL POST" and prominently feature stylized characters within an ornate floral frame. These provisional labels served in the absence of national issues and reflect the autonomy of treaty ports during late Qing China, a period when foreign influence led to localized postal systems. No watermark is present. The stamps are perforated 12, and this block is in mint never hinged (MNH) condition, although the reverse shows typical light aging and hinge remnants on some positions.
