This early 19th-century French folded letter was sent from Angoulême to Rouen in 1810 and is addressed to "Gme Desplangue fils nég[ociant]". The front bears a clear handwritten manuscript charge mark "15", indicating the postage due, along with a straight-line town marking "15e ÉME" and "Angoulême". The interior contains a dated commercial letter written in neat brown ink, with references to wine commerce, pricing, and delivery arrangements. The handwriting and language are typical of Napoleonic-era business correspondence, reflecting a formal yet persuasive tone. The red wax seal remnant and full outer folds are present, with some minor staining and folding wear, but the structure remains sound and historically evocative. A fine example of early postal history and mercantile communication under the Empire. Estimate "$60 – 85"
